The Queen of Hip Hop Soul is about to release her 13th studio album. On March 27th, she announced, via twitter, the name, artwork, and release date for the album. “Strength of a Woman” is the name of the album, and it is fitting due to the recent headlines about her divorce from husband/manager, Kendu Issacs. After she released the single “Thick Of It” (written by Jazmine Sullivan) and it went to the Adult R&B charts, the buzz for her next album started. Her long time fans (like myself) was ready for the new music when the split from her husband was announced. If you don’t know by now, Mary makes great music when she is going through a rough time in her life.
Billboard reported that the album will feature some collaborations with Kanye West, Jazmine Sullivan, Raphael Saadiq, and Hit-Boy. The album will be released April 28th.
