My Favorite Fall/Winter Drugstore Lipsticks

Fall/Winter Lipsticks

This year I have attempted to step out of my comfort zone with colors and make-up. In the past, nude shades were mainly what I wore. With the recent craze over bold lips, now was a great time to try. Not only did I try…I fell in love! I thought having smaller lips would be a problem for color so I was always afraid to go there. That is a thing of the past. I have been trying different shades, undertones, and finishes of lipsticks. After a lot of misses along the way, I have found some solid inexpensive drugstore lipsticks.

Fall/Winter Lipsticks Swatches

Wet N’ Wild: Wine Room (906D) & Spotlight Red (911D)Β  **Wal-Mart ($2)

These lipsticks are very pigmented with a matte finish. They are great without any liner or gloss. These are my go to when I want a great pop of color without all the add-on and fuss with liners and gloss. Since they are very pigmented, a little goes a long way. One application is enough for my lips.

E.l.f. Cosmetics: Gipsy **elfcosmetics.com ($1)

This lipstick is a great option on the days I want a great pop of color but not too bold. I like to wear my ‘BBQ’ lip liner by MAC Cosmetics along with this lipstick. The combination gives me a great nude with undertones of pink. Love it!

N.Y.C. (New York Color): 320 (Mahogany) 304 (Mocha) **Wal-Mart ($2)

The two of these lipsticks are great combinations as well as stand alone options. The Mahogany color is the biggest lipstick risk I have taken of them all. It’s a very awesome color. Although my lips are small, the color is great on lips and against my skin tone. They are both a sheen finish, but they are not heavily glossy. They keep your lips moisturized for a great amount of time.
